What happened today?

Today felt like one of those days with a bit of everything.

We are selling an investment property and working with a new agent. I have been really impressed so far. They took the time to talk things through properly, came out for a site visit, organised great photos, and even got a copywriter involved. The brochure they’ve pulled together looks brilliant. It reminded me how worthwhile it is to try a few different providers until you find the one that clicks. Quality makes a difference.

I’m also in the final stages of launching a new business networking group. It’s been about eight weeks in the making, and it all goes live this week. Today was about sending out final marketing bits, finishing the Founder Member programme, and working on sponsorship options. There were a couple of last-minute panics (of course!) but nothing that couldn’t be sorted; all part of the ride.

In between that, I chatted with a charity about a voluntary role I’m exploring. I care about it, and the conversation left me hopeful that we’re heading in the right direction. We need to sort out the details.

Back home, some tradespeople were wrapping up a long stretch of home improvements. That’s been going on for a while, so it feels good to reach the finish line.

And then later this afternoon, I got some unfortunate news: a family friend passed away this morning. Unexpected. It’s been an emotional end to an otherwise productive day.

Lesson of the day

You can be ticking off your to-do list, making plans, getting things done, and then something hits you sideways. Life doesn’t run in straight lines. Some days, alignment means holding the tension between progress and perspective. Between momentum and meaning.

Please take my free ALIGN Scorecard to understand your alignment better. It is a structured self-assessment across six key pillars of life and leadership. It only takes five minutes to complete, and when you finish, you will be sent a personalised report that sets your baseline alignment.

Take the Scorecard here.
